This is a book of memories, without which our heritage would be lost. Mr. Leahey spent a year interviewing a number of fishermen from the north shore of Cumberland County and recording their stories. The resulting account is a glimpse into the life of the lobster fishery both past and present. The North Cumberland Historical Society is very thankful to Mr. Leahey and all the fishermen and women who participated in the creation of this book.

Stephen Leahey was raised in Pugwash. After working in Toronto, Montreal, and Winnipeg, he returned to his roots and lives now on the Gulf Shore.
